FWW Employment Alert: The Expansive Reach of the New Washington Pay Transparency Law, Which Takes Effect January 1, 2023

11/29/2022

As we head into the holiday season, don’t forget to spruce up your job postings.

Earlier this year, Washington Governor Inslee signed SB 5761, which amends Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunities Act with respect to job posting requirements. Effective January 1, 2023, employers with 15 or more employees must disclose in each job posting the wage or salary range for the position, and a general description of all of the benefits and compensation to be offered to the hired applicant. “Posting” means any solicitation intended to recruit job applicants for a specific available position, including recruitment done directly by the employer or through a third party, and includes both electronic and hard copy postings.
